Health in the plague times of the 21st century

“Health in the plague times of the 21st century” presents the community with a unique and powerful book, which brings knowledge firmly grounded, anchored in cutting-edge literature, with an understandable and accessible writing, without losing, however, the historical depth- criticism.

It presents topics related to education and health care, with theoretical aspects, making its approach complete and comprehensive. In addition to addressing challenges and solutions for communities that are much less frequently seen in the literature, the Amazon region, with social minorities and the most vulnerable realities, identified in the Covid-19 pandemic scenario.

It also counts with the participation of several professors from the Postgraduate Program in Public Health (UEA), such as Breno Ferreira, one of the organizers, André Machado and Munich Therense.

Reading is an opportunity to think about health in a less reductionist, more integrative way and, above all, as an opportunity to develop social protagonism.
