Curricular structure (US)

Obtaining a master’s degree is conditioned to obtaining credits in disciplines, in academic activities under the terms of this regiment and approval of a dissertation on the subject of Public Health, carried out under the guidance of a doctor professor accredited by the Course.

The master’s student must complete at least 18 (eighteen) credit units in subjects, which correspond to 270 (two hundred and seventy) class hours, in addition to the credits referring to the orientation and elaboration of the dissertation, to the complementary activities and internship in teaching and to the Qualification and Defense Examination of the Dissertation, distributed as follows:

a) compulsory subjects: 9 (nine) credits;
b) non-compulsory subjects: 9 (nine) credits;
c) supervision and elaboration of the dissertation: 12 (twelve) credits;
d) complementary activities: 4 (four) credits;
e) teaching internship: 4 (four) credits;
f) qualifying exam: 5 (five) credits;
g) dissertation defense: 10 (ten) credits.

The 12 (twelve) credits referring to the orientation and elaboration of the dissertation will be distributed throughout the semesters of the courses (3 credits per semester), linked to the discipline of Orientation Seminars, under the responsibility of each advisor. Students will be asked for a standardized report at the end of each semester to complete the credits.
